Warranties
In addition to the statutory rights and remedies available to consumers under the Australian Consumer Law, we warrant that our products will be free from defects in design, materials and workmanship, for the warranty period, subject to the conditions and exclusions below (this Warranty).
Warranty Valid for Australia Only
This Warranty is valid exclusively for products sold or supplied to customers within Australia. If the products are sold or supplied to customers outside Australia, the rights of those customers may differ depending on the laws of the relevant jurisdiction. Customers should consult the applicable local laws to understand their rights in such circumstances.
Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). The customer is entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. The customer is also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. This Warranty is in addition to, and not a replacement for, the statutory rights and remedies available to consumers under the Australian Consumer Law. Any limitations, conditions or exclusions stated in this Warranty do not override or limit the customer’s statutory guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.
Customer must keep records
The customer must keep purchasing records and any warranty information and documents in a safe place, as they will be needed in the event of a warranty claim.
Warranty Period
The warranty period on any product starts from the date of original purchase, not from the date on which the product is installed, if installed at a later date. If any product is repaired, the warranty will be for the period below starting on the date of purchase of the original product, and not the date on which the product is repaired. If any product is replaced, the warranty on the replacement product will be for the period below starting on the date on which the original product is replaced, and not the date on which the replacement product is installed, if installed at a later date.

Installation Requirements & Licensed Electrical Work
Unless a product is expressly labelled DIY (Do It Yourself), all electrical work must be performed by a qualified licensed electrician. Products that are not labelled DIY must not be self-installed. Customers must not attempt to install, modify or connect hard-wired electrical products themselves.
This Warranty applies only where:
The product has been installed by a qualified licensed electrician.
Installation has been carried out strictly in accordance with any manufacturer’s installation instructions and recommendations; and
Installation complies with all applicable Australian electrical standards, codes and regulations.
Failure to comply with these requirements may void this Warranty.
We reserve the right to request reasonable evidence that installation was completed by a qualified licensed electrician. This may include, but is not limited to:
An electrical compliance certificate.
An invoice or receipt from a licensed electrician.
Details of the installing electrician’s licence number.
Where adequate proof of compliant installation cannot be provided, a warranty claim may be denied.
Remedies Under Warranty
If a warranty claim is approved by us, which approval must be in writing, at our option, we may:
Repair the product.
Replace the product on a like-for-like basis; or
Provide a refund or credit, at the customer’s option, where repair or replacement is not reasonably available.
We may partially approve a warranty claim or approve a warranty claim in full. Whether the warranty claim is partially or fully approved will be communicated to you in writing.
A warranty claim will not be approved if any of the warranty conditions below are not satisfied and/or warranty exclusions below apply (eg. the fan was not installed by a qualified licensed electrician etc.).
Replacement Products & Like-for-Like Policy
Where a product is assessed and approved by us for replacement under this Warranty, this will be a like-for-like replacement.
Like-for-Like Requirement
A like-for-like replacement means:
The replacement product will be the same as the original product, or if that product is not available (eg. has been discontinued) an equivalent alternative replacement product.
The replacement product must have comparable installation requirements, including mounting type, canopy size, cut-out dimensions, electrical configuration, and fixing points.
The replacement product must be suitable for installation in the existing location without structural modification.
The replacement product can be of equal or greater retail value, but if the replacement product is more expensive, the customer will be responsible for paying the additional difference in cost.
We do not guarantee that the replacement product will have identical dimensions, finishes, or mounting specifications where the original product is not available (eg. has been discontinued). The customer is responsible for reviewing product specifications and satisfying themselves that the product is a like-for-like replacement, prior to confirming their replacement product selection.
Warranty Exclusions
This Warranty does not cover:
A product purchased as an outlet sale.
An ex-display product.
A defect in a product notified to the customer, and accepted by the customer, before purchase.
Faults caused by unlicensed or improper installation (eg. the product is not installed by a qualified licensed electrician, not installed in accordance with any manufacturer’s installation instructions and recommendations, and/or does not comply with all applicable Australian electrical standards, codes and regulations).
Faults due to power surges, inadequate wiring, or external electrical issues.
Damage (eg. water damage, corrosion due to coastal or chemical exposure) where the product is not rated or recommended for such environments.
Fair and reasonable wear and tear.
Damage caused to the product after purchase due to misuse, abuse, accident, neglect, or any occurrence not caused by us or outside our control (eg. act of God, fire).
Interference with, or alteration of, the product by the customer or third parties (eg. modification, repair, maintenance, testing of the product other than as authorised by us).
Anything which does not affect functionality, and does not result in the product being unsafe, or likely to fail to work (eg. operational noises considered within an acceptable noise range, variations in texture, finish and patina of products made of natural materials such as brass).
A product if the warranty period has expired.
Costs
This Warranty covers parts only, and unless expressly stated does not cover electrician call-out fees or other costs (eg. to remove and reinstall the repaired product or install the replacement product), costs of equipment required to access the product, or any other labour costs.
Patching, Painting, Cosmetic or Building Works
This Warranty does not cover:
Ceiling or wall patching.
Painting.
Plaster repairs.
Re-cutting of ceiling holes.
Any cosmetic or building works required (eg. due to differences in canopy size, mounting plate size, or cut-out dimensions).
The customer must carefully consider canopy size and installation specifications when selecting a replacement product.
Change of Product Category
If the customer elects to choose a product from a different category (eg. replacing a ceiling fan with a pendant light), this will be treated as a refund rather than a replacement of the product. In these cases:
The original product must be returned in accordance with our instructions.
The claim will be finalised as a refund (subject to ACL and internal policy).
We will not be responsible for any costs associated with uninstalling the faulty product or installing the newly selected product.
The customer will be responsible for the removal of the original product and installation of the replacement product, including all associated costs (eg. electrician).
Change of Mind
This Warranty covers defects in design, materials and/or workmanship. It does not apply if the customer changes their mind (eg. because of personal preference, style, colour, appearance, or performance expectations that do not relate to a defect). The customer is responsible for ensuring that the product meets their personal expectations or aesthetic preferences before purchase. Claims that a product is “not fit for purpose” due to personal expectations or aesthetic preferences, when the product is functioning as designed, are outside the scope of this Warranty. No refund, replacement, or compensation is provided for change of mind, except at our discretion.
Environmental Factors & Product Longevity
Some products are designed for specific environments. Environmental conditions such as proximity to the coast, high humidity, salt air, extreme heat, or direct sun exposure can affect the appearance and performance of products over time. Coastal exposure: Products that are not specifically rated for coastal or marine environments may experience corrosion, rust, patina, or other natural wear when installed near the ocean or in areas with high salt content in the air. Such effects are considered normal wear and tear and are not covered under this Warranty.
Proper maintenance, cleaning, and care with materials suitable for the product type is expected to preserve appearance and functionality. This Warranty does not guarantee that products will remain free from rust, patina, or environmental wear throughout their lifespan. Such effects are considered normal wear and tear and are not covered under this Warranty. It is the customer’s responsibility to select products suitable for the installation environment and to maintain, clean and care for them according to any manufacturer instructions and recommendations.
Coastal-Rated Products
Some products are specifically designed and rated for coastal environments, while others are intended for standard indoor or non-coastal use. Coastal environments are defined as locations within approximately 5–10 kilometres of the ocean or sea, or other environments where salt-laden air is present. Freshwater environments, such as most rivers or lakes, are not considered coastal for the purposes of this Warranty.
Products rated for coastal use are manufactured with materials and finishes suitable to withstand salt air, humidity, and other coastal conditions. Installation of a non-coastal rated product in a coastal environment is not recommended, and any resulting issues, including corrosion, rust, patina, or other environmental wear are not covered under this Warranty.
To protect the customer’s investment, it is strongly advised that the customer select coastal-rated products when installing in these environments. Warranty claims for non-coastal products installed in coastal areas will be denied where damage is attributable to environmental exposure rather than a defect in the design, materials and/or workmanship.
Natural Material Variation
Some products, including but not limited to pendants, lamps, and decorative items made from real stone, marble, jade, or other natural materials, are inherently unique. Variations in colour, pattern, print, veining, marbling, or texture are natural characteristics of these materials and do not constitute a defect.
No two products made from natural materials will be identical. Claims based solely on differences between items purchased are outside the scope of this Warranty. Transparent or lighter areas, veining, or natural fissures in stone or marble may appear similar to cracks, but these are a normal feature of these materials and do not constitute a defect. The customer is responsible for considering natural variation when selecting products and understanding that these features are part of the product’s inherent character.
Labour, Call-Out & Access Costs
Prior Approval Required
Any electrician attendance, repair work, and/or associated costs arranged by the customer without prior written approval from our Warranty Team will not be covered or reimbursed by us, and must be paid by the customer.
Customers must submit a warranty claim and receive confirmation and instructions from our Warranty Team before arranging any electrician attendance.
Electrician Call-Out Fees
Electrician call-out fees are not covered under this Warranty unless expressly approved by us in writing prior to attendance.
Where a warranty claim has been approved and we have arranged an authorised electrician and/or service provider, coverage will be limited strictly to the scope confirmed by our Warranty Team.
No Fault Found / Installation-Related Issues
If, following assessment or inspection, the product is found:
Not to have a defect covered by this Warranty; or
To be functioning as designed, or otherwise outside the scope of this Warranty, or a warranty claim is excluded for any of the reasons above, then that warranty claim will be denied.
In such circumstances:
A call-out and/or assessment fee may apply (ie. all costs of assessing the customer’s warranty claim, including the cost of the authorised electrician and/or service provider attending the premises at which the product is installed, to inspect and test the product), and payment for the fee must be made directly to the authorised electrician and/or service provider assigned to the job.
The customer must pay all other costs associated with the warranty claim (eg. electrician, repairs) as our Warranty Team directs.
We accept no responsibility for these costs where a warranty claim is denied.
Removal, Reinstallation & Access Costs
Unless expressly approved by us in writing before the work is carried out, this Warranty does not cover:
Costs associated with removal and reinstallation of the product or installation of the replacement product.
Scaffolding, elevated work platforms, lifts, or specialised access equipment.
Roof access preparation or building works.
Customers are responsible for ensuring safe and reasonable access to the product for inspection and/or repair or replacement.
Claim Submission
To make a warranty claim, the customer must complete the online Warranty Request Form and provide the following information and documents for the claim to be assessed.
Provide proof of purchase and that the product has been paid for in full.
Describe the fault and provide photos or video, if requested.
Provide proof of licensed electrical installation, if requested.
We may ask for other information and documents.
For more information on making a warranty claim, the customer should call our warranty hotline on 1800 602 243 or email warranty@beaconlighting.com.au.
Assessment of Fault
All warranty claims are subject to inspection and testing, unless we specify otherwise. We, or our authorised electrician, will determine whether a defect is covered under this Warranty. If the product is found not to be defective, or if this Warranty is excluded for any of the reasons above, the claim may be denied.
If a service appointment is scheduled for inspection, repair, or replacement and the customer needs to reschedule, we require at least 48 hours’ notice. Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 48 hours’ notice, including same-day cancellations or where we are unable to gain access at the agreed time, may incur a call-out fee.
Out of Warranty Products
This Warranty applies only within the stated warranty period for each product. Any claims submitted after the expiration of the applicable warranty period will be considered out-of-warranty and will not be covered by us.
For out-of-warranty products:
The customer may still submit a claim for assessment, but any assessment, repairs, replacements, or parts provided will be at the customer’s cost.
We are not responsible for labour, call-out, removal, reinstallation, installation or access costs associated with out-of-warranty claims.
Out-of-warranty claims may be subject to standard service fees and parts charges, which will be communicated and agreed with the customer prior to any work being carried out. Submitting an out-of-warranty claim does not extend or reset the original warranty period.
Limitation of Liability
Our obligations under this Warranty are limited to the remedies set out above. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable to the customer for any special, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage of any nature whatsoever, including without limitation business interruption, loss of profits, and property damage. This Warranty is not transferable by the customer.
