Beacon Trade and LIVIN starting conversations that matter

At Beacon Trade, supporting tradies goes beyond what happens on the job. That’s why we’re proud to support LIVIN and the work they do to break the stigma around mental health.

LIVIN encourages people to speak openly about mental health and reminds us that it’s okay to ask for help. It’s an important conversation in the trade community, and one we want to help keep going.

Breakfast and a conversation about mental health

Recently, we brought the Beacon Trade and LIVIN communities together for a breakfast at our Hawthorn store.

Thirty-eight tradies joined us for the morning, along with former Hawthorn and Geelong AFL player and now Triple M commentator Isaac Smith. Jess Gesterkamp from LIVIN also joined us to talk about mental health, both on and off the tools.

The morning was a chance to grab some breakfast, meet Isaac and, more importantly, make some room for a conversation that isn’t always easy to start.  And people did talk. Many stayed behind afterwards to chat with Jess and learn more about mental health.

Supporting LIVIN beyond the breakfast

The support continued throughout the day, with 10% of all sales from our Hawthorn store donated to LIVIN.

For us, events like this are about creating opportunities for the trade community to connect outside the usual day-to-day. Sometimes that means talking shop. Sometimes it means having a conversation about something much more important.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us at Hawthorn, to Isaac Smith for being part of the morning and to Jess and the LIVIN team for the work they continue to do.

We’re proud to support LIVIN and help keep the conversation around mental health going.
